VIDEO: A Tour Through Morocco
On my first visit to Morocco, I was entranced by the endless maze of markets in Marrekesh, piles of spices, miles of rolling sand dunes in the coastal town of Essouaira, and the amazing mélange of flavors that came with every meal.
The fascination I felt while feasting on a honey-lemon chicken tagine or watching the sun set behind the third largest mosque in Africa is captured in this video by Enrique Pacheco. He's one of many filmmakers who traveled to the country only to fall in love with North Africa's stunning visuals.
In the short film above, he'll take you from the green mountains of the northern Rif to the desert of Erg Chebbi. You'll also get a glimpse of local life with shots of busting local markets and men at work in the tanneries or hammering copper.
This was the first time that Pacheco had been to the country, and he produced his film with help from the local people.
"Morocco has exceeded all my expectations as a traveler and even more as a photographer/videographer," he wrote on his blog. "This is a country where they know how to welcome visitors in every possible way." Throughout his trip, Pacheco was offered "warm hospitality" and locals helped him find the locations for the best shots.
