Camping with your kids can be a very rewarding experience. It gets you away from home and out of your comfort zone. It gives you the chance to explore nature and bond with one another. Now that autumn is upon us, it's time for some fun filled fall festivals. This is the perfect time to experience the overflowing fields and orchards. Take the kids to the Sonoma County Harvest Fair in California, head to Pennsylvania for the National Apple Harvest Festival, and join the big crowds at the Cranberry Festival in Wisconsin.
Visit a National Park
You can't go wrong by visiting a national park in the fall. However, there are some that offer a better view of the colored changing leaves than others. Walt Disney world is a place like no other; it's a magical place, where children's dreams may actually come true. Make a Scarecrow
Grab a small bag, rakes, old buttons, a pair of jeans, two t-shirts, an old hat, straw, hay, rope and safety pins, then get to work on creating a scarecrow. It's been a fall-themed tradition for decades.

Before winter comes and the leaves start to fall, go for a stroll around the park and enjoy the array of harvest colors surrounding you. The reds, yellows and orange color scheme will blow you away.

Wash and chop your apples, place them in a large stockpot, add water, stir in sugar, cinnamon and all spice. Then bring to a boil, uncovered for one hour. For the brave families out there, visit a haunted house this fall. Enjoy the awesome special effects, admire the costumes, listen to spine-chilling music and watch as you transport into another word. Spike up your adrenaline with a good scream.
Carve/Decorate Pumpkins
Pick pumpkins or visit your local store and purchase some, then head home and have a full day of pumpkin carving and decorating with your kids. They will have a blast and you will be able to add a new piece to your fall décor.

You don't have to dread your fall yard work, it can actually turn into an enjoyable activity for you and your family. Simply rake all of the leaves in your yard into a pile then call the kids outside and jump into the pile together.
