The places on the following list offer a combination of rich history, bustling local culture, lively entertainment, and adventure opportunities.

Visiting a national park is never expensive. You may have to pay an entrance or possibly a camping fee but, for the most part, you have a vast amount of land open to the public. You obviously don't want to go to the hottest place on the planet in the summer, when temperatures can easily reach 120 degrees. The spring is the best time to visit Death Valley Park because it's comfortably warm. You will find many opportunities for sightseeing, camping, hiking, and tours.
San Juan Island, Washington
Memorial Day weekend happens to be at a time when it's not high season in San Juan Island yet, which means you'll get better rates and no crowds.
