In Morelia, there are many wondrous historical sites, such as Morelia Cathedral and an 18th century church, Santuario de Guadalupe y Exconvento de San Diego. There are also several museums highlighting pre-Hispanic exploration to the state's colonization, orchid and mask museums, and the annual Zapata Vive Morelia Festival.
