An avid traveler, Alysa always finds something new to do or discover. Her concentration in art history in college allowed her to explore New York's museums and learn about art and culture around the world. She spent a year studying abroad at NYU's Paris campus. She has been a freelance writer for more than two decades, and she's penned everything from ghostwritten articles about green burial to educational pieces about French, her second language. She's also written a book about taking selfies and a historical fantasy novel, "Hearts at Dawn," which was selected as an Editors' Choice Book by the Historical Novel Society.

Alysa graduated from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study and received the 2002 New York University French Department Book Award.
