The World's Most On-Time Airline In 2024 Offers Menus Designed By World-Famous Chefs

As most travelers know, delayed or canceled flights can derail an entire trip. When booking a flight, time and cost are likely top of mind. But whenever possible, it pays to look into an airline's reputation to see if the flights you want to book are through airlines lauded for their timeliness. For example, budget airlines like EasyJet are infamous for delays. That said, the airline with the most on-time flights might come as a surprise.

Aviation analytics organization Cirium did the math and found that with an on-time arrival score of 86.7%, Aeromexico was the most on-time airline in the world throughout 2024. Aeromexico is based in Mexico City and is perhaps lesser known despite finding itself among Mexico's biggest airlines and serving over 20 million passengers each year. However, Aeromexico flights have destinations all over the world, and the airline partners with big names like Delta and Air France to increase its reach even further. Aeromexico has also been around for nearly 100 years, but maybe the most intriguing aspect of Aeromexico is its in-flight dining.

Aeromexico offers a wide variety of food options

Every passenger on every Aeromexico flight can receive a meal or snack for free. Drinks are free too, including alcoholic beverages (after 11 a.m.). Even better is the fact that Aeromexico's menus are "designed by world-famous chefs," according to the airline's website. Naturally, some of what this airline serves proudly reflects Mexican cuisine. For example, Aeromexico treats its Premier Class domestic flight passengers to pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread) from Panadería Rosetta, a highly rated restaurant in Mexico City. Rosetta is owned by famed Mexican chef Elena Reygadas, who was named World's Best Female Chef in 2023. Flights to Asia also feature Asian dishes along with the airline's usual options. You can order an in-flight meal with dietary restrictions on Aeromexico too, such as gluten-free, vegetarian, or diabetic restrictions.

Interestingly enough, online reviews are not all positive for Aeromexico's. Of course you should think twice before trusting online reviews, but Aeromexico's Tripadvisor reviews are fairly polarizing, with many five-star reviews and almost just as many one-star reviews. Common concerns surrounded refunds and luggage issues. Some reviewers did enjoy the airline's food and drinks, but even this aspect did not seem to stand out to customers as much as the website might suggest.
