A Vibrant Neighborhood In Florida Tops America's Most Insta-Worthy List

When you think of Instagrammable locations, images of curated cafés, historic landmarks, and areas of immense natural beauty often come to mind. Although it's no surprise the Eiffel Tower and Singapore's Gardens by the Bay are perpetually popular Instagram hotspots, an unexpected neighborhood has emerged as 2024's most-posted destination in the U.S. According to a recent study by hospitality group Premier Inn, Miami's Wynwood Walls is the number one Instagram landmark in the U.S. with almost a million shares for the associated hashtag.

The report evaluated 1,066 Instagram hotspots from around the world and eliminated outrageously popular attractions like the Statue of Liberty or Times Square. This exclusion made room for under-the-radar places, like Wynwood Walls and a few other gems in the U.S.

Nestled in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, Wynwood Walls could be considered its own district due to its sheer size — it is the largest street art museum in the world. With over 80,000 square feet of spray-painted walls, this open-air museum takes up an entire city block (not to mention the additional street art across the neighborhood), featuring over 35 murals by local and international artists from over 20 countries. Situated 15 minutes from Downtown Miami and only a 20-minute drive from Miami Beach, Wynwood Walls is easily accessible to locals and tourists.

Why is Wynwood Walls so popular?

In an age when being "Instagrammable" or content-worthy is a high-stakes competition, you might wonder why this surprisingly affordable museum (prices start from around $12) made its way to number one. First, the murals are truly exceptional, showcasing work by giants in the graffiti art field, including Shepard Fairey and Vhils. Second, few neighborhoods or even cities have so much street art concentrated in one place. Like the street art in this destination considered Arizona's coolest suburb with top-tier dining and vibrant culture, the murals are usually spread out (luckily, that Arizona suburb offers an interactive map).

In addition, visitors can explore two galleries, browse the shops, and join exclusive tours led by award-winning artists. For a chance to dive deeper, enroll in the "Street Art Experience," an option that leads students through foundational spraying techniques and includes hands-on mural work.

However, Wynwood Walls isn't just a space with pretty murals. It's also a social project dedicated to fostering the arts in Miami and connecting young people at Big Brothers Big Sisters with working artists. Opened in 2009 by Tony Goldman, the museum is part of Goldman Global Arts, which seeks to give street art a mainstream platform and bring people together through creativity.

A waterfront neighborhood in Baltimore and other top Insta-worthy locations in the U.S.

While Wynwood Walls took the top spot, there are other noteworthy additions to the list. With 326,872 posts for its hashtag, Fell's Point, Maryland, is the second most Instagrammable landmark in the U.S. Situated directly on the water, Fell's Point is a historic Baltimore neighborhood with cobbled streets, brick buildings, and plenty of shops, restaurants, and lively, outdoor events. However, what makes this neighborhood special is the atmosphere — you can feel how much business owners love Baltimore and their community.

Ranked as the third most popular Instagram landmark is Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, with 311,253 shares for its related hashtag. Spread out over 200 acres, Longwood Gardens features over 10,000 plant species curated in stunning seasonal displays. Popular photo ops include the fountain shows, the winter holiday light displays, and the expansive, glass conservatory.

Boasting 269,750 hashtag posts, the fourth most Insta-worthy spot is one of the most breathtaking streets across America – Acorn Street in Boston, Massachusetts. Lined with brick houses with overflowing flowerboxes, this cobblestoned street brings quintessential Bostonian charm that simply begs for a picture. Other popular Instagram locations include Piedmont Park (Atlanta, Georgia), this elevated park in New York City that gives you views you've never seen before, Seven Magic Mountains (Las Vegas, Nevada), and Bonneville Salt Flats (Wendover, Utah).
