Camp On Sandy Shores At This Family-Friendly Texas RV Park Boasting Scenic Views
Just a short 20-minute drive off the very beaten path of I-35, there's the pretty oasis known as Lake Waco. This massive artificial reservoir is run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and holds 79,000 acre-feet of water. Nestled on the lake's western shore is the spacious Lake Waco Marina, which has been a popular destination for local outdoor enthusiasts for over 65 years. Recently, the marina added an RV park to the property.
Traveling by RV can be an affordable and enjoyable way to travel with kids if you're well-prepared. After all, what kid doesn't want to have a beautiful spot for swimming or fishing just steps outside their door? So, if your family is searching for an ideal place to camp, fish, hike, swim, or boat while still being close to all the amenities of a Waco, the Lake Waco RV Park could be just what you're looking for.
Amenities at Lake Waco RV Park
Lake Waco RV Park has 23 lakefront spots and 17 marina side spots, so there are plenty of opportunities for scenic camping spots. However, if you're traveling with littles that don't swim yet, you might opt for one of the interior 27 pull-through spots to put some space between your family and the water. After all, those lakefront spots are truly lakefront. The 30 full hook-up sites include 50 and 30-amp electricity, water, and sewer. Rates start at $45 a night and increase to around $61 during holidays. Pets are also welcome at the park, but remember to pick up after them as there is no dog park.
Several Tripadvisor reviews mentioned that the road out to the park has some fairly epic potholes, so please proceed with caution. Lake Waco also has a total of 10 public boat ramps. If you prefer to pay cash, another thing to keep in mind is that Waco Lake is no longer accepting cash for any campground or boat ramp run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
