This Is Samantha Brown's Favorite Thing To Do On One Of Europe's Largest River Cruises
River cruises are often overshadowed by their ocean-based counterparts. Ocean cruises often feel like small cities floating on the water, filled with restaurants, nightlife facilities, water slides, casinos, and karaoke bars. However, just because they might sound more impressive doesn't make them superior.
When comparing river cruises and ocean cruises, it's clear that the latter tends to be larger, but don't be fooled by the relatively small size of river vessels. There are still plenty of fun and relaxing amenities on board, including Samantha Brown's favorite activity. The pro traveler posted a video to Facebook promoting a cruise she would be hosting, set to take place on AmaWaterways' AmaMagna — the largest river cruise ship in Europe (and a vessel that just so happens to call Brown its "godmother"). In the video's caption, Brown revealed that her favorite thing to do is hang out at the ship's Zen Wellness Studio.
She elaborated in a video tour of the ship: "The Zen Wellness room [is] bright and sunlit; it is so peaceful. There's a juice bar, cleansing water, and right next door — a gym. Or there are spin cycles on the aft outdoors so you can take in an intense spin class or put in a great workout." Think of the space as a mini wellness spa, complete with stunning views of some of Europe's most charming riverfronts.
Other impressive amenities on the AmaMagna
AmaWaterways' AmaMagna can be booked for journeys down the Danube, one of the world's best rivers for cruises. With scheduled stops in Austria, Germany, Turkey, and a handful of other countries, you can expect to keep busy with group tours and independent sightseeing. However, you'll want to leave some downtime between activities, given how much the AmaMagna has to offer.
As Samantha Brown explained, the ship is decked out with a stunning wellness studio. But what she forgot to mention was that the AmaMagna also contains two massage rooms so you can pamper yourself once you're done working up a sweat. There's even a hair salon and nail salon so you can look polished and put together on your trip.
Like larger ocean liners, you'll also find a cruise ship pool deck on top of the AmaMagna. There's a pool, a hot tub, and plenty of loungers perfect for taking in the stunning European views. You'll also spot a walking track, in case you didn't walk enough during your excursions. Inside the ship, there are lounges for socializing, reading areas, a cinema, and multiple restaurants where you can grab a delicious meal. At night, sit back and enjoy live performances by local talent, including opera singers and Bavarian bands.
