This Large Floating Playground On A Lake Is A Thrilling, Family-Friendly Michigan Gem
If you're in Michigan and looking for an exciting way to fight the summer heat, you've come to the right place! How does bouncing, sliding, and climbing a massive floating inflatable water playground on Lake Orion sound? Water Warrior Island is a thrilling water park inside Michigan State Park made up of giant slides, trampolines, balance beams, and huge obstacles covering a large area of the lake, allowing guests to mix and match between jumping, sliding, and even making a big splash. Talk about refreshing and exciting!
Designed with every family member in mind, there are specific areas dedicated to kids with safer and more age-appropriate slides, as well as obstacle courses to ensure ultimate fun for all age ranges. As for adults, don't think for a second that you'll get bored! You'll find the obstacle courses challenging, thrilling, and even somewhat exhausting! Your inner child is bound to make an appearance with all the fun, games, and laughs all around you. Read on to find out all the details you need to enjoy a day at Water Warrior Island, one of the largest water parks in Michigan.
Exciting activities for the whole family
If you're the competitive type, the obstacle course is where you need to be. Will you be able to climb the walls, balance on the beams, and get from one station to the other? Or will you end up plunging head-first into the water? Just try not to get it on camera so they don't hold it against you forever! And if being hurled into the water sounds like fun, then the Warrior Woah Slide is an absolute must as it sends you flying into the air, landing with a big splash into the lake.
Even if you've finished your sessions for the day, make use of the beautiful scenery around you and spend the rest of the day exploring the lake. Take a break, head to the beach, relax, or even enjoy a picnic with your loved ones. If you fancy a barbecue, you'll find a few grills available at the beach. There's no end to the opportunities here; you can sit back, soak in the sun, take a dip in the water, or enjoy the water sports available — if you magically manage to find the energy! If you do, you can experience walking on water by renting a paddle board or gliding away on a kayak and taking in the magnificent view.
What to know before you go
One important tip to keep in mind before visiting is that a Recreation Passport is required for entry and can be purchased at the entrance of the park for $21 — but remember to keep cash on hand, or you'll be left on a wild goose chase looking for an ATM. And just in case (for some reason) you want to go in the winter, we have bad news: The water park is only available during the summer season. If you plan on spending the day at Water Warrior Island, your best bet will be to grab an All Day Island Pass for $55 instead of paying for one-hour sessions on the obstacle courses, slides, or paddle boards for $20 each.
As for safety concerns, you will only be allowed to access the water park if you already know how to swim, and there are lifeguards around and life jackets for extra safety precautions. Have you worked up an appetite after all that swimming? Don't worry about finding a bite to eat; there are lots of beachy snacks around perfect for that post-water activity hunger, such as burgers, hotdogs, ice cream, and so much more. Sounds like a decent way to spend a hot summer day, right?
