The Pierre

If glitz is what gets you and your special someone going, then The Pierre is where it's at. Since 1930, this historic hotel has been the epicenter of luxury, hosting stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Barbra Streisand, and more. And with the Palace of Versailles in France as its muse, that's not surprising. Throughout its more than three dozen stories, The Pierre invokes the famed palace with its neo-Georgian touches, checkered marble floors, and standout staircases. You and your partner will feel like New York City royalty at this longstanding spot, and you wouldn't be the first one.

The Pierre has nearly 3,000 reviews on TripAdvisor, which has earned it 4.5 out of 5 stars. "The rooms are [bright] and cheerful, fully equipped with the finest products, towels and bedding and the views [if you choose a room with one] are romantic and gorgeous," said one reviewer on Tripadvisor. "The lounge area is great for dining or drinks, including high tea. It is just like a fine European hotel ..."

And yes, you should opt for a room with a view since The Pierre's scenery is unmatched. The hotel directly overlooks Central Park while also being near plenty of shops and restaurants for your romantic weekend away. Not that you necessarily need to leave The Pierre for those things, however. Its on-site restaurant, Perrine, brings the hotel's upscale vibes to the dinner table, and the hideaway also has a cocktail lounge with live music.

The New York EDITION

History and modernity mix at the New York EDITION to create a one-of-a-kind, luxury experience perfect for couples. That's because this hotel dates back to 1909 when it was the headquarters of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, but it has been completely reimagined with cozy rooms boasting oak floors, dark wood details, and massive windows overlooking sites like Madison Square Park and the Empire State Building. For an even more luxurious experience, opt for one of the New York EDITION's suites, which are adorned with iconic fashion photos, linen furniture, and walnut tables.

The hotel is well deserving of its more than 1,600 Tripadvisor reviews and 4.5 stars from plenty of happy couples. Said one on Tripadvisor, "Great location is just the start for this luxury hotel with just the right ambiance for a romantic getaway in the city. Lofts have city views and loads of space, the staff is impeccable, food [is] excellent, and the bar serves excellent drinks."

If couples can make their way out of their rooms, then they can head to the hotel's on-site spa or British restaurant, The Clocktower. For a drink, grab a nightcap at the Lobby Bar, with floor-to-ceiling views of Madison Square Park. Alternatively, try the Bar at the Clocktower, which, with its 24-karat gold leaf bar, sculpted plaster ceilings, and fiberglass globe chandelier, brings a new level of luxury to cocktail hour. The Beekman

With a history from 1761 and dining led by chefs Tom Colicchio and Daniel Boulud, it's clear that The Beekman doesn't mess around when it comes to keeping guests happy. That applies doubly to couples, as The Beekman offers a romance package where guests are welcomed to a hotel room adorned with rose petals, a bottle of Prosecco, and a box of truffles. But the beauty of the hotel itself is enough to add zest to your stay.

Rooms feature vintage furniture with modern amenities like rainfall showers, as well as Carrara marble tiles and original oak flooring. It's clear why The Beekman has nearly 2,000 reviews and 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor. "The Hotel aesthetic in general has a romantic vibe to it and since the food at the Temple Court is out of this world this is now my favorite Hotel to stay at in NYC," said one past visitor on Tripadvisor. "The staff was very accommodating and friendly as well."

Outside of their rooms, guests can choose from several restaurants and bars to dine in while still between The Beekman walls. Those include Le Gratin, Boulad's French restaurant that appears straight out of his hometown of Lyons with painted tile walls, iron chandeliers, and a cozy yet high-end ambiance. In the basement of the hotel is a titillating cocktail lounge, Laissez Faire, which is known for its martinis served in industrial yet ornate digs, including a gold DJ booth.

The Greenwich Hotel

The Greenwich Hotel takes its 88 guestrooms seriously. Every room is different, yet they all feature Savoir beds, an English brand that even employs a sleep expert.
