This Overlooked US Airline Is Considered One Of The Best For Domestic Flights

In May 2024, Hawaiian Airlines will offer nonstop flights from Sacramento to both Kona on Hawaii Island (also known as the Big Island) and Lihue on the island of Kauai. This is the first time that Hawaiian Airlines will have direct flights to the town of Lihue. The airline has already increased its frequency of flights to Hawaii from other major cities, like Las Vegas, Boston, Austin, and American Samoa. The aircrafts themselves are turning heads as well. The company's new Boeing 787 has fuel-efficient General Electric GEnx engines and has Hawaii-inspired decor such as sunset lighting inside the cabins.

Not only is Hawaiian Airlines adding more flights, but the company boasts rave reviews as well. Multiple travel-based publications, like Condé Nast Traveler, have created surveys wherein Hawaiian Airlines has come out as a favorite United States airline with flights to Hawaii. Additionally, its reliability has made Hawaiian Airlines the leader in on-time performance among all airlines in the U.S. for nearly 20 years. On more than one occasion, Kayak's Best Airlines Awards has chosen Hawaiian Airlines for best comfort, best food, and best airline overall.
