The Genius Instant Noodle Airplane Hack TikTok Swears By
We're all heavily involved in the conversations about airplane food. Some love it, some hate it, and for everyone in between, it depends on the menu. For plenty of others, TikTok is full of hacks for how to navigate food while flying. The legendary Anthony Bourdain never ate airplane food. "No one has ever felt better after eating plane food," he reasoned to Bon Appétit in 2016. "I think people only eat it because they're bored. I don't eat on planes. I like to arrive hungry."
Well, that's certainly one strategy. Sometimes, people have to be particular about what they eat on airplanes because of allergies and specific dietary requirements. But not to worry; there are ways to request in-flight meals for dietary restrictions. While there are methods to get what you need onboard, some still prefer bringing their own food on flights. TikTok offered one tip for bringing your own instant noodle meal on your flight, and honestly, it's a pretty solid idea.
Try bringing instant noodles on your next flight
Thanks to the world of TikTok, we're now onto the idea of bringing your own instant noodle cup onto a plane. TikTok personality Seema Pankhania (@seemagetsbaked) shared her travel hack of bringing the to-go meal on long-haul flights, in case she doesn't like the food offered on the flight. As Pankhania explained, you simply ask the flight attendant to fill the cup with hot water, and you're good to go. It's also a great idea if you're on a flight where there's a fee for snacks. You can bring your noodles through security, since they're dry and sealed, and eat for free onboard.
Notably, you are permitted to bring your own food on a plane. The most common food-related restriction has to do with TSA standards. Nothing liquid-based can exceed 3.4 ounces, and this includes salad dressings, peanut butter, and other condiments of a similar texture. It's worth noting that once these condiments, like mayo or mustard, are already on a sandwich, they're fine to fly with. So feel free to pre-make them at home. Or, if you want to keep things simple and cheap, pack a cup of instant noodles. You're all set for an easy meal and one that you're sure to like.
