Watch Dubai Skydiving Duo Set New BASE Jump World Record
Plenty of people have jumped off the world's tallest building before, but none ever from its highest point.
Skydive Dubai team members Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen set the Guiness World Record for the Highest BASE Jump from the Tallest Building when they jumped from the very tip of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
BASE jumping from a height of 2,717 feet is a challenge all its own. But before the duo could attempt the dive, they first had to make it to the top, which required extensive amounts of time spent training in the mountains of Switzerland and the construction of a special platform that would allow them to summit the highest point of the tower.
"We don't like to scare ourselves, that's not the goal," said Reffet. "People think that you BASE jump because you're crazy or you like to get scared. But we like to fly and we like to have fun. It's all about making the dream come true."
