Location: Western Alps

Height: 15,782 ft summit 

Mont Blanc Massif has the highest peak in all of Europe. People die every year due to the high altitude and rock slides, making it arguably the most dangerous mountain to climb. There have been dozens of deaths every year. The total number of fatalities is between 6,000-8,000.

Location: in Central Nepal

Height: 26,545 ft.

183 climbers have attempted to climb this mountain, 61 climbers died trying. Annapurna has the highest fatality rate in the world. According to adventure-journal.com, "The first 8,000-meter peak to go down is also arguably the worst." In October 2014 39 people were killed because of snow storms and avalanches.

Location: between Pakistan and China 

Height: 28,251 ft. 

Also, called Chogori or the Savage Mountain. K2 is the second tallest mountain on the planet. First you drive to the mountain, which according to experts is extremely dangerous, then you endure a 8 day hike. After, you begin your hike up the mountain. K2 has 300 successful summits and 80 fatalities. It has never been attempted to climb during the winter.

Height: 26,657 ft.  

Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest mountain in the world. It is also known as the Man Eater. Yes, the title speaks for itself... This mountain is covered in rocks and ice making it extremely dangerous for climbers. The death rate has improved to 5.5 percent mainly due to the frequent storms and hazardous avalanches.

Location: Nepal and India border

Height: 28,169 ft. 

Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. It has a 22 percent fatality due to the serious avalanche and weather hazards that occur on the mountain. The last part of the climb is almost vertical for more than 1,000 ft!

Location: Swiss Alps

Height: 13,025 ft.

The Eiger's nickname is Mordwand (Murder Wall), mostly because of its heavy rock fall and its 5,900ft north face of rock and ice. Fun Fact: people can watch the climbers climb up the mountain from a railway tunnel that runs inside the mountain and also from telescopes placed in local bars and restaurants.

Dhaulagiri is the 7^th highest mountain in the world. It is stated, a climbers average trip lasts around 40 days. 18% of climbers have died attempting to reach the summit. Dhaulagiri is considered the 4^th deadliest mountain in the world.

Height: 29,029 ft.

Mount Everest, the most talked about mountain, is the tallest mountain on the planet. More than 1,500 people have climbed this mountain. It is attempted by many climbers every year, but surprisingly claims a small percentage of climbers. The majority of climbers that attempted Mt. Everest had trouble dealing with its extremly high altitude. Many climbers endured broken/sprianed bones and suffered from frostbite and acute mountain sickness.

Height: 26,759 ft. 

Manaslu is the 8th highest mountain in the world. It requires an immense amount of endurance being that it is an extremely steep mountain with a very sharp peak. The mountains glaciers and long ridges allow climbers to attemp it from many different directions. It has a high fatality rate of 59 deaths since 1950.

Location: New Hampshire

Height: 6,288 ft.

Although not high, this mountain has severe weather conditions. Ice Pellets, and hurricane winds are just some of the many conditions to look out for. More than 100 lives have been claimed on this mountain. It has the highest wind ever measured at any weather station, 231 mph. More than 130 people have died.
